ENDING speculations for long, the CPM has decided to field its state secretariat member and party organ Desabhimani Resident Editor M Swaraj as its candidate for the Nilambur by-election.

- EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE @T'Puram

Announcing the decision on Friday after the secretariat meeting, state secretary MV Govindan said that will fight the election politically. This is the third assembly election for 46-year-old Swaraj.

The party leadership had earlier discussed many options before coming to a decision. Though the leadership considered the choices of some consensus candidates and the possibility of LDF independents, the party finally decided to contest politically.
