Misri's 2-day China visit from Jan 26 to normalise ties between 2 countries

FOREIGN Secretary Vikram Misri will visit Beijing on a two-day trip beginning Sunday as India and China try to normalise their relationship that had been strained due to border tensions since 2020.

In October 2024, New Delhi and Beijing reached a significant agreement to reduce military tensions along the border. After Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks in Russia's Kazan on October 23, both the countries have begun to take small steps and confidence-building measures to restore ties.
