JOINT raids by the Andhra Pradesh Food Safety Department (Vijayawada) and the Legal Metrology Department in Tirupati have uncovered serious breaches of food safety and legal standards in multiple hotels, restaurants, bakeries, and sweet shops.
Acting on the directives of the Commissioner of Food Safety, 18 inspection teams—each comprising a Food Safety Officer and a Legal Metrology Inspector or Assistant Controller, supervised by five Assistant Food Controllers and three Deputy Controllers of Legal Metrology—conducted checks across the city.
