Man Addicted to Online Gaming Told to Pay ₹10K Every Month to Wife, Son

The Chief Judicial Magistrate court in Tirunelveli on Wednesday directed a 33-year-old man from Madurai to pay monthly maintenance of ₹10,500 to his wife and minor son, who separated from him allegedly due to his addiction to online rummy.
The victim, who married G Murali in 2021, in her petition alleged that Murali was addicted to online rummy, pledged her jewellery, and harassed her when she questioned his behaviour. She said she was forced to leave him and live with her parents, and demanded ₹20,000 per month as maintenance.
