DMK functionaries led by former Tenkasi district secretary P Sivapandmanathan petitioned Transport Minister SS Sivasankar, demanding the establishment of a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) depot in Alangulam to reduce operational costs and increase bus services to Chennai on Wednesday.
In their petition, the functionaries stated that Alangulam, the headquarters of an assembly constituency, is rapidly developing into a municipality.
