Stray Dog Menace on Rise in Thrissur; Journo Attacked

Suffers wounds on arms and legs and was administered vaccination

A JOURNALIST with a local television channel was injured in a stray dog attack near Ayyanthole in Thrissur on Thursday.

Pradeep Kumar was on his way to a hotel in Ayyanthole when he was attacked and bitten. He suffered eight to nine wounds on his arms and legs and was administered the anti-rabies vaccination.

The residents complained that feeding of stray dogs was rampant in the region and this had led to the presence of a large pack. "Though the corporation has been implementing the animal birth control (ABC) programme, it seems aggressive dogs are coming here from other places, troubling people," said Rekha, an Ayyanthole resident.
