AT A TIME when children spend more time in front of screens, a team of writers and cultural personalities has been guiding students to the path of reading through Pusthakapura.
The driving force behind the project—pure love for reading.
Vayanalahari, a book published by Pusthakapura, contains close to 100 appreciation notes of various Malayalam stories written by 43 students. Through this, Pusthakapura has set a model for the entire Kerala on how reading can be promoted among the younger generation.
It was in 2018, a team led by writer Gramaprakash came up with a project titled 'Pusthakakooda' with an objective to collect books and distribute them to libraries that were affected by the 2018 flood. It was a great success, with prominent people and publishers donating their part towards the cause.
"During the interactions with writers and teachers, the idea of Pusthakapura turned up," said Gramaprakash.
