Paramekkavu Temple Gets Permission to Conduct Fireworks for Vela Festival

FOLLOWING the direction of the High Court of Kerala and based on the additional documents and affidavits submitted, Additional District Magistrate T Murali on Thursday granted permission for fireworks display of not more than 100kg explosives as a part of Vela festival of Paramekkavu Bhagavathy temple that will be held in the wee hours of January 4.

Both Paramekkavu and Thiruvambady devaswoms had approached the High Court seeking intervention in the issue as the district administration denied permission for fireworks display during Vela festival. The devaswoms had failed to submit the licence issued by PESO for the fireworks display operator and his assistant.
