16 Middle-Aged, Elderly Men Forced Into Bonded Labour Rescued After Years

At least 16 men from across the country, held captive and forced into bonded labour by "powerful individuals", have been freed by the authorities in Guna district of Madhya Pradesh.
The men—rescued from homes, agricultural farms, roadside dhabas, cowsheds and brick kilns—were kept in inhuman conditions and reportedly even given electric shocks by their captors, if they tried to flee or opposed working without wages. They are aged between 20 and 65 years and hail from multiple states, including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, UP, Odisha and Maharashtra.
