DGCA to revise medical parameters for pilots to match global standards: Assn

THE aviation regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), has agreed to form a committee that will prescribe revised medical parameters for pilots operating civilian aircraft in India, the Airline Pilots Association of India (ALPA) said.
According to the pilots body the panel would be in line with the standards and recommendations of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).
The move followed a grievance raised by the association that the mandatory medical evaluations done by regulator's empanelled centres were inconsistent with the international body's recommendations.
