Dagadarthi Airport Project Gains Momentum After Nod by Cabinet

The long-awaited dream of an airport in Nellore district is inching closer to reality, with the State Cabinet recently approving the construction of a Greenfield airport at Damavaram village in Dagadarthi mandal.
The Cabinet cleared the draft Request for Proposal (RFP) to develop the project under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model and sanctioned HUDCO loans for land acquisition, utility shifting, and creation of basic infrastructure.
Authorities have identified 1,379 acres for the airport, of which 814 acres have already been acquired and handed over to the Airport Development Authority. A recent central inspection team noted that works could progress swiftly once land acquisition bottlenecks were resolved.
