When you stare at the night sky, you see millions of stars above. However, one star stands out, not because it is the brightest, but because you can spot it at a fixed point, almost every night. This is the ethereal 'North Star' or 'Polaris'.

Throughout history, Polaris has served as a symbol of hope, freedom and direction for mankind. For the 'enslaved' of North America, the North Star served as a path to liberation that guided them towards freedom, whereas, in literature and folklore, this star was often depicted as a metaphor for destiny.
