Infosys to train 50k teachers, says District Minister

SCHOOL Education, Literacy Minister and District Minister Madhu S Bangarappa said that discussions have already been held with Infosys Foundation to provide training to 50,000 teachers across the state.

The minister told reporters here on Saturday that the training will focus on skill-based education and bilingual teaching methods.

Infosys Foundation has already trained around 15,000 teachers as part of this initiative.

"Infosys is also supporting the development of government schools in Shivamogga Rural constituency. Infrastructure improvements and the supply of modern teaching aids are being carried out with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding amounting to Rs 200 crore. Additional funds from CSR sources will also be sought to ensure the comprehensive development of government schools in the district," he said.
