Clarify doubts about internal reservation: Seer to Siddaramaiah

Says Supreme Court had clearly stated that states have power to implement internal reservation

ALLEGING that the government has violated the recommendations made by Justice Nagamohan Das commission and the Supreme Court, Basavamurthy of Madara Chennayya of Madiga Gurupeet on Friday said, the classification should be done on the basis of the data available. However, all the norms have been flouted by the government.

He said that last year, the Supreme Court had clearly stated in its judgment that the states have the power to implement internal reservation and directed that the classification of Scheduled Castes should be based on accurate data and backwardness of communities.
