Dy CM Parida Surveys Flood Damage, Directs Prompt Relief Distribution

DEPUTY chief minister Pravati Parida conducted an aerial survey of flood-affected areas in Bhograi, Jaleswar, Baliapal, Basta, Remuna, Balasore Sadar blocks and Jaleswar municipality on Thursday.

Parida also took stock of the ground situation at Bhograi along with Balasore MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi, local MLAs and district collector Suryawanshi Mayur Vikas.

"I surveyed the flood-affected areas in Bhograi, Baliapal, Jaleswar, Basta, Remuna and Balasore Sadar. A total of 154 villages across these six blocks and 8 wards of Jaleswar municipality have been affected. Steps have been taken to relocate people to safe places and provide them food," the deputy CM posted on 'X'.

Sources said Parida visited Baunsamunha village under Kumbirgadi panchayat in Bhograi on a boat and met the flood-affected people. The affected villagers reportedly aired their grievances like delay in provision of relief items and lack of access to safe drinking water.
