Attacker sustains injuries to the chest, undergoing treatment at hospital, condition stable
The Pappakudi police sub-inspector shot at an 18-year-old youth who, along with a juvenile, allegedly attacked him with a sickle. The incident happened when the police personnel were trying to rescue a 22-year-old Schedule Caste youth who was being assaulted by the duo near Rasthavoor on Tuesday night.
The injured youth and the SI have been hospitalized and are said to be stable. The suspect, who turned 18 years four days ago, and the juvenile were under the influence at the time.
