GIVEN the "growing" threat of climate change to agricultural productivity, scientists have reiterated the need for climate-resilient agricultural practices.
Speaking at a state-level conference on Participatory Irrigation Management (PIM), organised by the Irrigation Management Training Institute (IMTI) in Tiruchy, they emphasised that the northeast monsoon now brings more intense rainfall over shorter durations, leading to increased flooding and damage.
They stressed the urgent need to develop effective water management strategies to mitigate these impacts.
