Passengers Struggle Amid Bus Shortage in Kolar

COMMUTERS across Kolar district were left stranded on Tuesday as KSRTC employees launched a sudden strike, demanding salary revisions and the release of pending arrears.

Bus stands across the district wore a deserted look as services on over 500 routes were suspended.

Students, workers, and daily commuters were forced to rely on private transport to reach their destination. While the district administration arranged limited private bus services to key towns like Srinivaspur, Mulbagal, Malur, Bangarpet, and KGF, rural areas remained severely affected.

Meanwhile, police were deployed in large numbers at bus stands and depots to maintain law and order. Some KSRTC workers reportedly attempted to block private buses from entering the bus stand, but police intervened to ensure passenger movement.
