Govt is working towards finalising FTA with US by Jul 9: Commerce ministry

COMMERCE ministry has reiterated that the government is working towards finalising the first tranche of the bilateral trade agreement (BTA) with the US before July 9, 2025, the day the 90-day deadline for exemption of reciprocal tariff ends.
Commerce secretary Sunil Barthwal told the media the government is working out the earlier tranche, and it is hopeful that the first tranche will be done within the timeline (July 9).
