C'ballapur Blood Bank crosses milestone, collects 1.65L units of blood since inception

The Chikballapur Blood Bank, operated by the Indian Red Cross, has achieved a significant milestone, collecting a whopping 1,65,000 units of blood since its establishment in 2012, according to its chairman M Jayaram.
Speaking to media persons here on Friday, Jayaram highlighted that out of the 31 districts in the state, only 10 have Red Cross Blood Banks. Chikballapur's Red Cross Blood Bank is notable for offering blood at a subsidised price of just ₹650 per unit.
Blood collected at the Chikballapur Blood Bank is distributed across the district's five taluks — Chinthamani, Siddlaghatta, Gauribidanur, Bagepalli, and Gudibande. Additionally, blood is supplied to surrounding districts, including Bengaluru Rural, Kolar, and even parts of neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.
The Red Cross Blood Bank has a monthly requirement of 1,000 units but is currently collecting an average of 600 units.
