Bihar CEO asks voters to file claims with Aadhaar

DAYS after the Election Commission of India deleted over 65 lakh names during the first phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, the Chief Electoral Officer of Bihar, Vinod Singh Gunjiyal, issued a notification, asking voters whose names were removed to file claims using their Aadhaar cards.

This step came after the Supreme Court, on August 14, passed an interim order asking the Election Commission to accept Aadhaar cards as proof for voters who want to challenge the deletion of their names.
