Yellamma Temple, Roerich Estate to be developed under spl grants

PRESENTING the state budget in the Assembly on Friday, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced that the Shri Renuk ka Yallamma Temple of Belagavi, a major pilgrim centre in Karnataka, and Devika Rani Roerich Estate near Bengaluru, will be developed under the Special Capital Assistance Scheme, with a total expenditure of Rs 199 crore.
"Yellamma Temple records some of the highest tourists footfalls in the state and requires large infrastructure to cater to the rush of tourists. Similarly, the Roerich Estate is a heritage site, which needs to be preserved," said a tourism expert.
