A study on the impact of arecanut consumption on health is currently ongoing, said Kasargod CPCRI director Dr K Balachandra Hebbar.
"We are conducting a study on arecanut and its impact on health in a phased manner. We have studied the report by World Health Organisation, and it was revealed that the report was readied based on those who consumed products made using arecanut and other items. Hence, we are conducting a study in association with coastal medical college hospitals on those who only consume arecanut.
