Recommendations Sent to CM to Fortify Child Rights
The New Indian Express Mangaluru
|August 18, 2025
The Children's Rights Festival Committee of Dakshina Kannada has presented a comprehensive array of 35 recommendations to the Chief Minister through the Deputy Commissioner, urging the government to take immediate action to fortify child rights and protection mechanisms throughout the state.
Over the past two decades, the committee has collaborated with various government departments and civil society organizations to enhance public awareness regarding child rights and pertinent legislation, while also pinpointing critical areas needing systemic enhancements.
In a bid to ensure these improvements are effectively enacted, a new platform named the Task Force for Children's Education and Rights - Karnataka (TFCER-K) has been established, uniting stakeholders from relevant governmental bodies and departments. The recommendations were suggested by TFCER-K coordinator Renny D'Souza, alongside members Ashalatha Suvarna and Kasturi R, who represent the community's voice.
