Overflowing manholes in multiple areas after heavy rain in the Mangaluru City Corporation limits pose a threat to public health. Manholes were found overflowing at Kudroli, Bejai, Bunts Hostel and many other areas, following heavy downpour, which resulted in sewage flowing into nearby low-lying areas.

Sudhir Kumar Shetty, former mayor and ex-corporator, said the wet well pump installation work that was taken up last month, abruptly stopped due to heavy rain and this issue will be resolved after the rain stops.
