PROGRESSIVE thinkers and writers have strongly condemned Mangalore University's decision to confer honorary doctorates on three affluent businessmen.
In a statement, Prof. Narendra Nayak, former academic council member of MU, rationalist Vasudeva Ucchil, Dalita Sangharsha Samithi convenor M Devaraj, writer Dr Krishnappa Konchady, theatre personality Prabhakar Kapikad, Karnataka Prantha Raitha Sangha secretary K Yadav Shetty, rationalist Eric Lobo and others termed the development as shameful.
