MP, MLA Criticise Congress Govt

UDUPI-Chikkamagalur MP Kota Srinivas Poojary and Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna have taken exception to the decision of the officials who made a student remove his 'janivara' (sacred thread) when he went to write the K-CET examination in Shivamogga recently.

MP Kota Srinivas Poojary stated in a video message that certain community people have respect for the 'janivara', and removing it shows the audacity of the government. MP recalled earlier controversy where officials reportedly asked candidates to remove earrings and later faced backlash over the mangalsutra row, and questioned the government's approach and intent.
