THE Madikeri City Municipal Council (CMC) has got a new president and vice-president for the second term.
THE Madikeri City Municipal Council (CMC) has got a new president and vice-president for the second term. The election for the same was conducted on Monday in a neck-to-neck competition between many BJP councillors. Kalavathi, a BJP-backed member of the CMC, won the presidential post and the post is reserved for General category women. Mahesh Jaini, another BJP-backed councillor, became the vice-president.
There was a neck-to-neck competition for the posts and the BJP core committee met before the official election and had selected the councillors for the new posts.
