First Batch Of 26 Artificial Insemination Technicians Start Their Training

AS the veterinary doctors are scant in numbers to visit the houses of dairy farmers in the district, so in a bid to improve livestock productivity and boost the rural economy, the animal husbandry department commenced with a three-month training for the first batch of 26 multipurpose artificial insemination technicians in Rural India (Maitri) here on Saturday.
K Venkatesh, Minister for Animal Husbandry and Sericulture, government of Karnataka, participated in the inauguration of the training programme held at Dr V S Acharya Hall in Udupi Zilla Panchayat building in Rajathadri and addressing the Maitris, he said that this training initiative aims at improving overall livestock health. He assured them that he would speak to CM Siddaramaiah and apprise him of the need to increase the stipend paid to Maitris. He added he has already spoken to the Unio
