Distribute DC Manna land or face protests

DALITA Sanghatanegala Samanvaya Samiti, Dakshina Kannada, has demanded that the state government bring amendments to the concerned law in the upcoming assembly session and take steps to distribute DC Manna land to the landless scheduled class families which is a long-pending demand of the community.
Addressing a press conference in Mangaluru, Dalit community senior leader M Devadas on Thursday said that due to legal issues, the process to distribute DC Manna land has been delayed. "We have appealed to the elected representatives and officials in the past also. When we discussed the issue with MLC Ivan D'souza a few days ago, he arranged a meeting with the Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner in which Dalit leaders had also participated.
