Court finds merit in Opposition's claim of serious irregularities in corp's delimitation process
THE Kerala High Court has intervened in the contentious Kozhikode corporation ward delimitation process, finding merit in the Opposition's claim of irregularities. On Tuesday, Justice C S Dias, observing a prima facie case in the petitioners' arguments, directed the corporation to immediately produce its assessment register as of October 1, 2024, before the court.
In an interim order, the court made it clear that the ward delimitation would remain subject to the final verdict in the case. The intervention came in response to a petition filed by United Democratic Front (UDF) members of the corporation Council, represented by Advocate M Muhammad Shafi.
