Teachers can inspect students' bags, but without humiliation: Child Rights Panel

THE State Child Rights Commission has clarified that it is not opposed to teachers inspecting students' school bags, but stressed that such checks must be carried out without insulting or humiliating children.
Commission member B Mohan Kumar said the directive prohibiting bag inspections in front of other students was issued following complaints that such practices could harm a child's dignity. "Bag inspections can be conducted, but without hurting the dignity of children," he said. Mohan Kumar was speaking after inaugurating a one-day training programme for school teache
