Kozhikode to host Kerala's 1st organ transplant hospital

CHIEF Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that Kerala's first dedicated organ transplant hospital will begin functioning soon in Kozhikode. The announcement was made during a district-level meeting with invitees to mark the fourth anniversary of the state government.
The organ transplant hospital, which has already received administrative approval for Rs 558.68 crore, is planned to begin operations using the existing facilities at the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital. This is a strategic move to avoid delays while the new facility is being constructed on the dermatology hospital campus at Chevayur. The chief minister said that the government is fully committed to enhancing the state's healthcare infrastructure and reiterated ongoing efforts to bring AIIMS to Kerala.
