Facing backlash, govt announces holiday

DRAWING FLAK from various corners, the state government on Thursday night declared a holiday for all educational institutions on Friday.
Earlier in the day, the government had cancelled the already declared holiday on Friday (June 6) for Bakrid and made Saturday (June 7) as the official holiday. Friday was declared a regular working day. The government move subsequently sparked widespread criticism and protest from Muslim organisations, education
