Mother confesses to drowning infant son over domestic disputes

THE 20-year-old mother of the five-month-old boy who was found dead in a plastic water barrel close to her house in the district in the early hours of Sunday was arrested on Monday after she allegedly confessed to having murdered him.
The accused, Lavanya, confessed during interrogation, stating that emotional distress and frequent domestic disputes with her husband drove her to commit the act, the police said.
