July 15, 2025

THE National Medical Commission (NMC) has asked all medical institutions to set up a committee to monitor the adverse events related to medical devices with the aim to monitor, assess, and prevent such harmful medical occurrences.

- KAVITA BAJELI-DUTT @ New Delhi

The public notice by NMC Secretary, Dr Raghav Langer, said that each medical institution should register the committee with the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC). They should mention the name of the coordinator of the committee and additional members, if any, on their website and update the Pharmacovigilance committee members' names on their website by July 31. The notice said that the medical superintendent should be the chair of the committee.
