2 Terrorists, 3 Jawans Killed in Fresh Kathua Encounter

TWO terrorists and three security personnel were killed in a day-long encounter in the Ghati Juthana area of the border district of Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, officials said.
The gunfight erupted near Jakhole village in the morning after a joint contingent of police, army, CRPF, and BSF launched a search operation following information about the presence of terrorists there, official sources said.
They said in the course of the search, security personnel came under heavy fire from terrorists hiding in the area. Intermittent exchange of gunfire continued throughout the day amidst occasional blasts and explosions rattling the area.
