Oppn seeks resignation of Nitish over 'disrespect' to nat'l anthem in Patna

A petition was filed in a Bihar court against CM Nitish Kumar on Friday seeking action against him for allegedly "disrespecting" the national anthem a day after he abruptly left the dais at a sporting event before the national anthem was to be played.
In the petition filed before a chief judicial magistrate in Muzaffarpur, advocate Suraj Kumar alleged that the CM's actions during the inauguration of the Sepak Takraw World Cup 2025 at the Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna brought disrespect to the state. The advocate urged the court to initiate action against the CM under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act. The court ha
