KASARAGOD Police have arrested a fraudster involved in an online investment scam worth ₹2.23 crore. The accused, Muhammad Naushad A T, 45, a resident of Payyanur, has a history of committing online frauds across Kerala and other states. He was taken into custody for deceiving a doctor by falsely promising a lucrative home-based job and subsequently swindling money from him.

The case, originally registered on June 8, 2024, at the Kasaragod Cyber Crime Police Station, was later investigated by the District Crime Branch due to the large sum involved in the fraud. The cheating took place between May 17, 2024, and June 4, 2024, when the accused contacted the doctor through Telegram and promised a home-based part-time trading job and convinced him about its profitability. Following the instructions of the accused, the victim transferred a total of ₹2,239,493 to multiple bank accounts over several days.
