A KANNUR native has come forward with serious allegations, claiming that the entire amount collected through crowdfunding for her daughter's liver transplant surgery was not handed over as promised.
T.R. Vijayamma of Payyavoor accused the local Treatment Assistance Committee of withholding a substantial portion of the funds raised for her nine-year-old daughter's surgery. According to her, around Rs 50 lakh was collected by a committee formed by people's representatives, office-bearers, and the guardians of the child to cover the medical expenses.
