Siddu govt suppressed 2016 report on Waqf land: Siroya

BJP MP Lahar Singh Siroya on Monday alleged that the Siddaramaiah government suppressed the Upa Lokayukta report on Waqf properties in March 2016 and urged the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024, to look into its recommendations.
The report has details of criminal misuse, mismanagement, illegal subletting, and encroachment of Waqf properties over the decades in Karnataka by those legally authorised to protect them, the MP stated in his letter to JPC chairperson Jagdambika Pal.
