Pickup vehicle rams KSRTC bus, 5 killed

IN an incident, five people were killed, and 12 people sustained severe injuries after a pickup vehicle struck a KKRTC bus near Madraki cross of Shahapur taluk on the late night of Thursday.
Four people died on the spot while another succumbed to injuries while under treatment at GIMS Hospital. The deceased has been identified as the driver of Mahindra Bolero Sharanappa Wanakuni (26), Sunita (30), Somavva (45) and Tangavva (32).
According to the eyewitnesses, lightning struck the pickup vehicle near Madraki Cross which was carrying the passengers. The driver could not control the vehicle and hit the KKRTC bus which was coming from the opposite direction.
