Multi-pronged Strategy to Tackle Traffic, Cybercrime, Women Safety Soon

Police devising specialised traffic management plans at key hotspots, upgrading cyber cell with advanced software and increasing late-night patrolling

In a determined move to address some of Belagavi's most pressing urban challenges, newly-appointed Police Commissioner Bhushan Borase unveiled a multi-pronged strategy focusing on traffic management, cybercrime prevention, and women's safety. His vision, he says, is not only to curb crime but to build a disciplined, secure, and citizen-friendly city.

Speaking to The New Indian Express, Commissioner Borase highlighted the urgent need to streamline the city's increasingly chaotic traffic. "The growing number of vehicles, narrow roads, and rampant illegal parking have made traffic a serious concern in Belagavi," he said. In response, the police department is devising specialised traffic management plans for key hotspots including schools, colleges, bus stands, commercial zones, and other congested areas. "Strict action will be taken against those violating 'no parking' zones. Traffic discipline must be enforced," Borase asserted.
