Man gets 35 years jail for raping minor

ADDITIONAL District and Sessions Court (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO)Court) of Kalaburagi on Tuesday has sentenced a person to 35 years of imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 28,000 on him for raping a minor girl, said Special Public Prosecutor Shantaveer Tuppad here on Wednesday.

In a press note released here, Tuppad stated that the accused and the victim were neighbours and were residing in the place coming under the jurisdiction of Aland Police Station. The accused Saibanna s/o Naganna Mashale used to eve-tease the 15-year-old girl for a long time and on June 10, 2023, Saibanna raped the girl and told her that he will marry her.
