The Intelligent Traffic Management System has been implemented in Kalaburagi for the first time

- EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE @Kalaburagi

The implementation of the Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) in Kalaburagi will help in controlling traffic violations, said Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge who is also Kalaburagi district in-charge minister here on Saturday. This has been implemented for the first time in Kalaburagi, he said.

"We can bring transparency by implementing this e-challan system and in some cases, vehicle drivers used to accuse the police of causing trouble regarding traffic rule violations," he said. However, transparency will be brought by imposing fines or taking legal action based on the footage of CCTV cameras, he added.

Speaking after inaugurating the e-challan system at the Police Commissioner's office here, Kharge said that 113 CCTV cameras have been installed at important places in the city and are monitored through a control room. If vehicles are caught violating traffic rules, such vehicle drivers or owners will be fined by issuing this e-challan and legal action will be taken, he said.
