BJP Questions FIRs Against MLAs, Religious Heads

A day after FIRs were filed against Opposition MLAs and religious heads in Tumakuru, in connection with the protest against the Hemavathi Link Canal extending to Bengaluru South district (formerly Ramanagara), leaders of the BJP slammed the state government.

BJP state president BY Vijayendra stated that instead of calling for a coordination meeting to resolve the issue, the government is trying to control people who are protesting, which is condemnable. He added that instead of working to address farmers' issues, the state government is trying to divide them, which is unfortunate.
