Record of sorts as HC judge grants bail to over 70 accused in May on condition of planting trees

JUSTICE SK Panigrahi of the Orissa High Court has created a record of sorts by granting bail in over 70 cases in the first fortnight of May with the condition of planting trees.
In a few cases, the judge granted bail on condition of cleaning police station premises.
Among those granted bail include people facing charges of assault, cheating, corruption, cyber crime, theft, murder, rape, transportation of narcotics, keeping sexual relationships on false assurance of marriage etc.
Other conditions imposed by Justice Panigrahi included appearing before respective local police stations every Monday between 10 am and 1 pm, not indulging in any criminal offence and also not tampering with the evidence or intimidating the prosecution witnesses in any manner.
