HC Refuses to Assist in Debt Recovery Arising from 'Illegal' Activity

A complainant being party to a transaction for an illegal act cannot claim redressal in monetary disputes.
The court will not assist a party in recovering money if debt arises from illegal or immoral activity, a single judge bench of Orissa High Court has ruled.
The judge Justice Sibo Shankar Mishra also expressed concern over parents adopting unfair means to get children admitted to good educational institutions despite their wards not being eligible.
