C'garh HC relief for cop who faced social boycott over inter-caste marriage

A distressed Chhattisgarh Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mekhlendra Pratap Singh, facing social boycott from his community for marrying a woman of his choice, has lodged an FIR in his home town of Bilaspur, claiming that his marriage was conducted according to social traditions.
Singh, 35, who hails from the 'Satgarh Tanwar' community (Scheduled Tribe), is posted in Kanker district, where he is engaged in the ongoing anti-Maoist operations. He is being boycotted despite his claims that his wife belongs to the same tribal caste.
