In a significant comeback, Mysuru city regained national recognition by earning a place in the newly introduced Super Swachh League (SSL)—the highest classification under the Swachh Survekshan framework of the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban.
It is the only city in Karnataka to achieve this distinction in the 2024-25 rankings, announced on Thursday.
Mysuru, which was crowned India's cleanest city in 2016, had slipped to the 27th position in the 2023-24 rankings. However, this year marks a remarkable turnaround, with the city emerging as a symbol of sustained urban cleanliness and civic engagement.
